"One Writer's Mind" is a blog of science fiction, fantasy, astronomy, horror, and writing about writing by author J.A. Grier. It's a blog where both fans and writers of speculative fiction can find something fascinating and fun. Post topics cover a range of material, including book reviews, science trivia, writing inspirations, great new art, editorial pieces, scientist interviews, astronomy updates, and writing prompts. Grier is a writer, scientist, poet, and author, with more than two dozen poems published in small press journals and anthologies, as well as a textbook about the terrestrial planets.
Scientist interviews are short Q&A sessions with people in the know about the space program, astronomy, engineering, planetary science, and geology. Interviews are not only enjoyable for fans to read, but give writers new ideas and spark creativity. Art features come from partnerships with rising artists on deviantArt, where Grier has obtained permission to post special pieces of interest to lovers of strange worlds and unusual people. With a Ph.D. in planetary science and a B.S. in astronomy, Grier always has an eye on developments in space science, and provides articles and heads-up of astronomical events and new discoveries.
